2010 Tom Lambert Trophy - “Blob” Blake finds his way to the front! A beautiful sunny day welcomed the 39 Seniors who were desperate to venture onto the Woodside Course and demonstrate their golf skills to anyone fortunate enough to be watching. Or perhaps the subsidised meal in Stantons was more of a motivation in this regard! Anyway some very good scores ensued with the top three being 3rd, Phil Turrell 38 pts. 2nd Dave Inglis 41 pts. and our very worthy winner Bob Blake who amassed a magnificent 44 points. We all then made our way to Stantons and as usual were treated to another excellent meal. Our Captain then signaled the start of the formal part of the proceedings and Steve Hudson gave details of the scoring and Phil Turrell led the eulogy to his father-in-law Tom Lambert. I don’t think many of us will be forgetting Tom’s worst nightmare any time soon! The whole day went without a hitch which was either very lucky or perhaps the behind the scenes work by Mick Hall, Colin Thornton, Steve Hudson and the staff of Belton Woods had something to do with it. I’m sure all BW Seniors are with me in offering our sincere thanks to all concerned for making our day. The full list of runners and riders is here, Eclectic here and more photos here
