Seniors and Ladies get up close and personal On a windy but sunny and warm day the Seniors and Ladies got down to business on the Lakes Course. Coffee and Danish Pastries had set up an appetite for competitive golf which neither side wanted to lose. Teeth were bared and horns locked as the teams swept up the first fairway and into the distance. No quarter was given and none asked as the competitors snaked round the Lakes. In fact, as we innocent and trusting Seniors found out later, the little minxes had “nobbled” Angus and “persuaded” him to put the yellow tee boxes as far back as they would go!!! I’m sure one of the tees was in Nottinghamshire. A public enquiry is on the cards. Finally we all hove into view of the clubhouse desperate for a reviving drink and a whiff of Stef’s apple tarts! Soon all that could be heard was the licking of lips and chomping of teeth as the sandwiches, chips and cakes were made to disappear in record time. Altogether a great day’s golf enjoyed immensely by those fortunate enough to be involved. The result - everyone’s a winner!
