Captain’s Day 2011 & Monthly Stableford Wed 6 July
Despite the forecast of scattered showers the 41 Seniors managed to wend their way around the Lakes and miss all the rain! Although there's nothing more like a "scattered shower" than 41 Seniors trying to play on the Lakes!
Something new for 2011 was The Putting Competition dreamt up by Ray Woodcock (I can provide his address for any Senior bent on revenge). It was fascinating to see so many balls in the rough even in this comp.
As usual we all repaired to Stantons where an excellent carvery was provided.
The Captain then presented the prizes for both the golf and raffle.
The GOOD NEWS is that the Raffle raised £210 and the Putting and Heads & Tails raised £56. So well done to all concerned.
An excellent day all round and our thanks must go to the Captain and Vice Captain, Steve Hudson, Colin Thornton and De Vere for a memorable and well presented event.
